Kevin Jaxon - Founder/Leader of Kevin Jaxon & Midnight Sun, Lead Vocals, Lead Guitar

Kevin, born in Inglewood, CA, demonstrated exceptional musical talent by the age of 12. A self-taught guitarist and songwriter, he recently completed a 10-song CD, entirely written, arranged, and performed by himself. Throughout his career, Kevin has collaborated, performed, and toured with renowned musicians and bands, including Rose Royce, Johnny Otis, Shuggie Otis, and Mandrill, among others. Since relocating to Lake Havasu City, AZ, in 2012, he has been featured multiple times on the Roger Galloway Talk Radio Show, KNTR 106.3, as well as in various publications such as The Laughlin Entertainer Magazine, The Living Magazine, Desert Biker Magazine, and RiverScene Magazine. Under his leadership, the Midnight Sun has evolved from a little-known “jam band” into the premier R&B band in the tri-state area.

Keenan Edwards - Bass/Vocals

Keenan Edwards was born in 2003 in Lake Havasu City, AZ, and developed a passion for music at an early age. At four years old, his father bought him his first guitar and taught him to play. During high school, he formed his first band, Mile High, with his best friends. Since 2022, Keenan has performed throughout Mohave Valley County with bands such as 198EX and The OG's. He is currently a member of Lake Havasu's only Rhythm & Blues group, Kevin Jaxon & Midnight Sun, contributing on bass, lead, and background vocals.

Jason Specht - Trumpet, FlugelHorn, Vocals

Jason, born into a musical family in Inglewood, CA, grew up along the Colorado River in Parker, AZ. He attended Northern Arizona University, studying Trumpet Performance under the late Maestro Charles Way and Jazz Studies with Dr. Peter Vivona. Locally, he performs as a guest trumpet soloist and bassist at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Lake Havasu City and has co-led as trumpet section leader for the Lake Havasu Big Band. As an original member of Kevin Jaxon & Midnight Sun, Jason is thrilled for his third opportunity to return to performing with the band.

Martin “Marty” Waychoff - Drums/Percussion

Martin "Marty" Waychoff (pronounced wáy-cough), born in Seattle in 1957, first learned to play drums in the 5th grade orchestra at Ravenna Elementary. About four years after graduating high school, Marty joined his first punk rock band, The Girls, in 1979, famously pictured wearing a Singha Beer midriff shirt and bare feet. Like many drummers, he performed with numerous bands and achieved regional commercial success with a group called The Cowboys, who were popular in Seattle and Portland and had the opportunity to open for major acts. He and his wife of 13 years later moved to Lake Havasu, where he has resumed playing drums with great joy and enthusiasm. Marty has recently become a member of Lake Havasu’s sole Rhythm & Blues band, Kevin Jaxon & Midnight Sun, infusing a fresh dynamic into the group’s distinctive, edgy funk style.

Frank “Hot Rod” Holmon

Frank “Hotrod” Holman was born in San Francisco ages ago, with classical piano lessons at six and his dad’s Big Band records sparking his love for music. His early days saw him in “Front Page,” a 70’s cover band touring the West Coast and opening for acts like “Tower of Power” and “Ides of March.” He then joined “Variant Cause,” an all-original 80’s band rocking the Pacific Northwest, before teaming up with “The Diablotones,” an original Ska band touring across Canada and the US, including stops on the Warp Tour. The band performed at Hollywood Hard Rock and signed a record deal releasing "Dia De Los Muertos" CD in 2000. This was followed by a 12-year immersion in "The Blues," performing as the house "All Star Band" at The Highway 99 Blues Club in Seattle for ten years, with notable highlights including the Portland "Waterfront Blues Festival," where they played to audiences exceeding 30,000.Frank was drawn to Calvary Church in Lake Havasu, where he has served as a regular pianist for the past four years. He met and performed with Kevin Jaxon during Havasu jam sessions, ultimately solidifying the collaboration in 2026 by joining Kevin Jaxon's Midnight Sun band.
