Kevin Jaxon - Founder/Leader of Kevin Jaxon & Midnight Sun, Lead Vocals, Lead Guitar

Kevin was born in Inglewood, Ca., and began to show promise at the age of 12 as a talented and gifted musician. Kevin is a self-taught guitarist and songwriter recently completing a 10 song CD, all written, arranged and performed by Kevin. He has worked, performed and/or toured with several major name musicians and bands such as Rose Royce, Johnny Otis, Shuggie Otis and Mandrill as well as a host of others. Since Kevin moved to Lake Havasu City, Az., in 2012, he has been interviewed on the Roger Galloway Talk Radio Show, KNTR 106.3, on several occasions, as well as, several newspaper articles, including The Laughlin Entertainer Magazine, The Living Magazine, Desert Biker Magazine and RiverScene Magazine. Kevin has taken the Midnight Sun from a little known "jam band" to the hottest R&B bands in the tri-state area.

JASON SPECHT - TRUMPET/VOCALS

One of the founding members of the original Midnight Sun band, Jason is back with a vengeance after a brief 3.5-year hiatus. Jason was born in Inglewood, CA but grew up in El Segundo and on the river in Parker, AZ. He started playing trumpet in 4th grade, can play most other instruments, and has received several music awards, including the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award during high school. Jason studied trumpet performance at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ under the late Charles Way and performed at the Fullerton Jazz Festival in Fullerton, CA. Jason is a well-rounded musician that is comfortable playing in many different styles and is ecstatic to be back with the band.

MICHAEL HOTHAM - KAYBOARDS, LEAD/BACKGROUND VOCALS

Michael Hotham began learning and playing keyboards in high school in York, Pa., performing with various bands influenced by R&B and Motown. He joined the Air Force and afterwards settled in Las Vegas, Nv., where he continued to pursue and improve his musicianship and musical performance. While in Las Vegas Michael performed with such bands as 2nd Shot, Pigs In A Blanket and Ghostlight Country Band among others. Michael’s second home is Lake Havasu City, Az., and has performed there with such local bands as One Eyed Romeo and The OCD Band. Currently Michael is an active member of Kevin Jaxon & Midnight Sun doing what he loves best - performing R&B, Funk and Soul.

JAMIE WERNER - BASS, LEAD/BG VOCALS

Jamie has been a part of the band for many years…even before it was called “Midnight Sun”. He and Kevin met at a jam session in 2012, and they have been performing music together ever since. Jamie is dedicated to the bringing life to the low end of the music. As a 40 year veteran Bassist, he says “it is amazing to be playing Rhythm and Blues music from a song list that spans six decades”.

Jamie learned to play guitar at 11 years old, and switched to Bass guitar “temporarily” in the early 80’s until their touring band “Synergy” could find a replacement Bass player. He found the sonic range and precise rhythm required to play Bass guitar so pleasing, he stayed with it and has continued on the quest to perfect his playing to best suit the music and style of this seven piece Rhythm and Blues powerhouse band. “I’ve played almost every style of music on the Bass. Everything from Jazz standards on a standup, to Classic Rock, Pop, and Country, and this is by far the most fulfilling and challenging genre of music to perform on a Bass guitar”.
